Closed school in Edgewood ISD repurposed for Girl Scouts

The West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center is opening in the first floor of a building that used to be Coronado/Escobar Elementary School in Edgewood ISD. “Girl Scouts moving into new West Side center”, Elaine Ayala, San Antonio Express-News, September 1, 2012; also see this earlier post.

Closed school buildings could also be leased or sold to charter schools, as discussed in this earlier post. Finding money to pay for school facilities is a major challenge for charter schools, as discussed here.
